As teachers, we need to be confident in getting outside the classroom and into the great outdoors. While there may be many barriers….time, money, management pressures, let’s put our brave pants on and provide our students with unique learning experiences.
Create meaningful inspirational lessons with confidence…share ideas with colleagues , work together with other curriculum areas. Seek advice from the outdoors professionals in leading and managing groups in the outdoors … risk management …
- Plan a field trip
- Encourage exploration of local community and environment
- Collaborate with community organisations
- Fully utilise the school/college grounds
- Share good practice with other educational establishments.
